Lemon essential oil

The lemon tree is native to India but was imported to Europe by Crusaders in the Middle Ages. Because of its high content of vitamins A, B and C lemon juice was given to the sailors of the Royal Navy to prevent scurvy.

Today lemon is one of the most popular fruits in the world. It is widely used for culinary, cosmetic, cleaning and aromatherapy purposes.

Lemon oil is extracted through the cold pressing of its peel, and it takes about 3000 lemons to produce just one kilogram of oil.
